The Infant and Todder Center of Dale City, which serves families in the Lake Ridge and Dale City area, specializes in care for infants and toddlers ages three weeks through three years old and is the only early care facility for infants and toddlers exclusively within a 50 mile radius. The staff at The Infant and Toddler Center has over 50 years of combined experience in early childhood education and has been awarded several teacher and management awards from Minnieland Private Day School, Inc. Teachers design individual, age appropriate lesson plans for each of the children at the center. Director Becky Compton said, “Going through accreditation involves team work and lots of dedication. NECPA is a nationally recognized accreditation process which follows a rigorous process of self-study, surveys of parents and staff, verification by early childhood education professionals, and a final review by the NECPA Board of Commissioners.The accreditation is valid for three years, after which the program must complete the process again in order to maintain its accredited status.During the accreditation process all areas of the schools program are scrutinized including administration, staff development and the working environment, the developmental program, outdoor and indoor environments, health and safety and parent and community relations.
