Minnieland is committed to providing its children with the best. In order to provide them with the best, we have to train our staff to be the best! To accomplish this, Minnieland offers an eighteen-hour training course for teachers in the areas of infant, toddler, preschool, and school-age care. The training is divided into six, three-hour sessions on topics such as health and safety, parent communication, room arrangement and schedule, guidance and discipline, developmental milestones and needs, and curriculum planning. Teachers are evaluated in a follow up assessment of their classroom and teaching behavior. These courses are offered on an ongoing basis at our three training facilities.
Our Educational Support Team uses leadership and communication skills in dealing with center directors, trainers, teachers and cooks. The main goal of the department is to effectively promote training that effectively meets the needs of Minnieland Private Day School, Inc and the State of Virginia to include quality control, inspection of programs, employee assessments and retention.
